The Neighbourhood

A land of undulating hillsides planted with grape vines and olive groves that is famed for its luminosity and richness of colour. The way-marked coastal path of the ‘Côte Rocheuse’ descends to hidden creeks, and re ascends to high cliff paths. The light house Semaphore of Cap Béar being the landmark for this route, passing through the natural reserve of the bay of Paulies, the traditional seaside resort of Banyuls-sur-Mer and the footpaths along Cap Cerbère, to the Spanish frontier.

Getting around

- A local bus at only a stone’s throw from the apartment will take you to Port-Vendres and Cerbères in one direction and Collioure and Perpignan in the other; for only 1€!
- Nearest train stations are Port-Vendres and Collioure
- Having a car is recommended though not essential.

- Numerous short way marked walks in the Albères and Vallespîr regions: rich in monasteries, abbeys and priories, dolmens and watch towers from the period of the ‘Royaume de Majorque’. You will find guide books and maps at the property.
